Matthew Santos: Grammy-nominated artist Matthew Santos has established himself as one of the rare and striking talents quickly emerging from the Chicago music scene.  With an ethereal voice that has been the praise of artists such as Eddie Vedder, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, and Rihanna, Santos has secured his place in current music with his distinguished style and elusive musical gift.  Far from all of the sound and fury of the modern music trends, Santos is quietly rising into one of the most remarkable voices of his generation.

Michael Trulis: Artists for Harmony president, educator, mixed media artist, and croquet extraordinaire.

2 Sparrows: A seasonally–driven breakfast, lunch and brunch outpost located in the heart of Chicago’s charming Lincoln Park neighborhood, 2Sparrows features the contemporary American comfort fare of Chef/Partner Gregory Ellis, and a service and beverage program overseen by General Manager/Partner Steven Fladung. The two friends grew up together in Chicago’s western suburbs, and worked simultaneously — Gregory in the kitchen and Steven in the front of the house — at their esteemed training ground, Charlie Trotter’s.

ICRE Art & Tech Room Mural: Start To Finish

The ICRE-R Art Room Rehab Project

Because of your generous donations and unheralded support, the dream of a remodeled art room for the wonderful students of ICRE-R has become a reality. After months of planning, and help from several volunteers, the art room is set to open its doors to the students at the beginning of the fall semester.

The art room serves as more than a place for arts and crafts. Coinciding with AFH’s mission, the room is also a place where students can feel safe to express themselves in a positive manner. AFH believes that when a welcoming environment is obtained, the power of self expression is unleashed. EVERY student truly has the ability to make a lasting impression on our community.

Your selfless donations have provided:
Countless art supplies
New storage spaces
Computers with state of the art and adaptive peripherals
A high definition television
Wii gaming system
HD video cameras
And much more!

The entire room has been designed to accommodate the individual needs of each student, and weekly classes will be held to utilize the newly remodeled room.

If you would like to volunteer your time and see first hand how amazing these students are, please email

Thank you for all your support.

Tie-Dying Extravaganza!

AFH spent the weekend tie-dying with the students of ICRE.  It truly was a blast, and the kids loved it!  The shirts will be worn by the students during the 7th Annual Disability Pride Parade in Chicago.
